Mitra Jyothi’s Computer Training Centre has been providing computer training to the visually impaired and low vision students since 2005. All our training programs are in technical collaboration with Enable India. So far, we have given computer training for 117 Visually Impaired people in basic computer and conducted TTC (Teachers Training course) for 64 people.

Courses currently in session are the Basic Computer Course (July 2009 to April 2010) and Advance Computer Course (January 2010 to June 2010)

CCCT Basic (Career Centric Computer Training Basic): The course includes 3 months English training and 6 months of computer training The emphasis of the course is for students to gain communication skills in written and spoken English and gain basic computer knowledge to use it effectively for employment, education, daily living and recreation..

  4. extracurricular activities (Field trip, visit to ATM/banks/organizations etc, conducting games)

Summer camp: Main goal of this course is to increase the knowledge on Computer Basics and making them efficient in using computers independently. Basic Computer

TTC (Teachers Training Course): Main goal of this Training is to train the teachers on how to teach computer to the visually Impaired students using JAWS. Teaching methodology
  1. How to teach a concept
  2. Materials (Tactile diagrams) to be used while teaching
  3. How to create exercises on different concepts
  4. field trip to organizations/companies
  5. Accessive devices and introduction about
    latest technologies

Advanced Computer Training Centre (ACTC) conducted by Mitra Jyothi in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services - Maitree. Commencing from 25th July 2011.
 The main goal of this course is to
Visually impaired individuals represent a substantial untapped resource, whose potential has not been fully utilized. Given the academic background of the Visually Impaired, many have not been able to avail the benefits of Science and Technology education.The centre offers courses that are in synchronization with industry requirements and would help them to get employed.The program is need-based & customer focused. The curriculum and content are continually refined, based on on-going feedback from current & prospective employers in a variety of industries including legal/ accountancy services, Banking, Hospitality, Retail, B.P.O., IT, etc.

 The course content is:
  1. 1. IT Infrastructure & Service Management
  2. Building competency for the Business Process Outsourcing    
  3. Soft skills.
